Who you are

You are currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, or Information Sciences. You have a strong foundation in machine learning concepts and are eager to apply your knowledge to real-world problems. Your research interests align with areas such as auction theory, recommender systems, and computer vision, and you are excited about the opportunity to engage in external collaborations and mentoring.

You possess excellent analytical skills and can collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data to build relevant machine learning models. You are comfortable writing clean, efficient, and sustainable code, and you are motivated to contribute to a team that is focused on developing innovative solutions in the logistics space.

Desirable

Experience with big data analytics and familiarity with ad tech or ranking systems would be a plus. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn from experienced professionals in the field.

What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Engineer intern at DoorDash, you will tackle new challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will conduct research that can be applied across various engineering teams and contribute to the development of a 24x7 global infrastructure system that powers DoorDash’s marketplace. Your work will involve using cutting-edge research in machine learning, natural language processing, recommender systems, and computer vision to solve real-world problems across discovery, ads, forecasting, fulfillment, and search experiences.

You will have the opportunity to contribute and execute on research ideas that can be applied to improve product experiences at DoorDash. This includes collecting and analyzing data, synthesizing findings, and using insights to build relevant machine learning models. You will collaborate with other engineers and researchers, sharing your findings and learning from their expertise.
