Eleks is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in partnership with the UK's largest renewable power generator. You'll work on projects focused on sustainable biomass and hydroelectric power. This role requires expertise in data engineering.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in building and maintaining data pipelines that support analytics and reporting. You understand the importance of data quality and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that the data you work with is accurate and reliable. You are comfortable working in a remote environment and can effectively communicate with team members across different locations.
You are familiar with various data storage solutions and have experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases. You understand the principles of data modeling and can design schemas that optimize performance and scalability. You are also knowledgeable about data processing frameworks and tools that facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Engineer at Eleks, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines that support the analytics needs of our partner, the UK's largest renewable power generator. You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and ensure that the data infrastructure meets their needs. You will also work on optimizing existing data processes to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
You will play a key role in ensuring data governance and compliance, implementing best practices for data security and privacy. You will mentor junior data engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously looking for ways to enhance our data capabilities.
