Overview
Esri is hiring a Product Engineer II for their 3D Analyst Team to develop software solutions for 3D spatial analytics. You'll work with technologies like Python, C#, and ArcGIS to enhance lidar data management and analysis. This position requires 2+ years of experience in GIS or a related field.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 2+ years of experience in GIS or a related field, demonstrating a proven track record of solving complex problems involving lidar, TIN, and 3D geometry. Your excellent communication skills enable you to present and demonstrate technical topics effectively to colleagues and customers. You hold a Bachelor's degree in geography, earth science, planning, environmental studies, engineering, computer science, or statistics, which provides a solid foundation for your work in this role.
You are enthusiastic about 3D spatial analytics and eager to contribute to the development of world-class software solutions. Your experience with ArcGIS and programming in Python, C#, or C++ allows you to design, prototype, test, and document new software tools and techniques effectively. You are also familiar with surface analysis, DEM/DTM production, and 3D data, which enhances your capability in this position.
Desirable
Experience with deep learning technology and its application in solving complex problems is a plus. Familiarity with lidar data management, analysis, classification, and feature extraction tools will further strengthen your profile. You are keen to grow your expertise in using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) for surface modeling and its use as a spatial data structure.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, prototype, test, and document new software tools and techniques that enhance the capabilities of the ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension. You will grow capabilities for lidar data management and analysis, focusing on classification and feature extraction tools. Your work will involve deploying tools that utilize deep learning technology to address complex problems in 3D spatial analytics.
You will sharpen your skills in presenting and communicating technical topics to both colleagues and customers, ensuring that the solutions you develop are well understood and effectively utilized. Supporting spatial analysis on 3D features, including spatial proximity queries and solid operators, will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with a diverse team to bring state-of-the-art technology to a large customer base with a wide range of 3D applications.
