Who you are

You have a vast knowledge and understanding of data graphics — you know how to create visually appealing and effective data visualizations that communicate complex information clearly. Your systems-level design thinking allows you to approach problems holistically, ensuring that your designs are not only beautiful but also functional and user-friendly.

You possess aesthetic taste and capability — your design work reflects a keen eye for detail and an understanding of visual hierarchy, color theory, and typography. You are comfortable using design tools like Figma to create high-quality graphics that meet industry standards.

While coding and implementation skills are optional, you have a foundational understanding of web technologies — your familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS enables you to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and understand the technical constraints of your designs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will set new standards and defaults for a new data visualization library — your work will involve creating aesthetically pleasing and cohesive designs based on best practices in data visualization. You will implement and maintain these standards, ensuring that the library is user-friendly and meets the needs of various stakeholders.

You will evangelize and market the visualizations and products being built — your ability to communicate the value of your designs will be crucial in gaining buy-in from both internal teams and external users. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the visualizations align with the overall product vision and user experience goals.
