Site Reliability Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a solid background in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps, with at least 3-5 years of experience in managing production environments. Your expertise in observability and performance tuning allows you to ensure the reliability of critical systems. You are comfortable working independently and are ready to take ownership of key areas within the SRE strategy. Your experience with infrastructure management equips you to handle the complexities of modern cloud environments.

You possess strong skills in managing databases, particularly OLAP and OLTP systems, ensuring their high availability and reliability as business needs evolve. Your familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog enables you to develop comprehensive monitoring and alerting capabilities. You understand the importance of performance testing and are adept at identifying bottlenecks to maintain system scalability.

Your foundational knowledge of core infrastructure technologies, including Kubernetes and GCP, allows you to effectively manage cloud resources and implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices using tools like Terraform. You are proactive in optimizing CDN and Edge infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security configurations.

Desirable

Experience with automation tools and scripting languages will be beneficial. Familiarity with incident management processes and a strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments will set you apart. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in operational processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the stability and reliability of all environments, including production, by implementing and supporting SRE practices across the organization. You will lead the execution and maintenance of the Observability stack, developing and maintaining comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging capabilities. Your responsibilities will include managing and tuning core database systems to ensure high availability and reliability as application and business needs evolve.

You will conduct performance testing and engineering efforts for key services, performing load tests and identifying bottlenecks to maintain system scalability. Additionally, you will maintain and optimize the CDN and Edge infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security feature configuration. Your role will also involve providing critical cross-support for core infrastructure, assisting with automation and cluster management.
