You are a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of additive manufacturing processes — your expertise in print setup and optimization ensures high-quality output. You have experience with CAD models and slicing software, allowing you to prepare and slice models effectively for various 3D printing technologies.
Your knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles enables you to identify potential design improvements that enhance printability and reduce post-processing time. You are skilled in troubleshooting print setup and orientation issues, analyzing failures, and implementing effective solutions to streamline production workflows.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure successful project outcomes. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly helps bridge the gap between engineering and production.
What you'll do
As a 3D Digital Manufacturing Technician at Formlabs, you will be responsible for preparing and slicing CAD models for various 3D printing technologies, including FDM, SLA, and SLS. You will utilize various slicing software to optimize print orientation, support structures, and settings to maximize quality, efficiency, and material usage.
You will identify and communicate potential design improvements using DFM principles, ensuring that designs are optimized for printability. Troubleshooting will be a key part of your role, as you will analyze print setup and orientation issues, implementing effective solutions to enhance production workflows.
Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure that projects meet their specifications and quality standards.
