Devops Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, demonstrating a strong foundation in AWS, particularly with ECS and Terraform. Your expertise includes implementing and improving monitoring systems and incident workflows, ensuring that you can maintain high availability and performance in production environments.

You are comfortable with scripting in Python and Bash, which you use for automation and operational tooling. Your familiarity with PostgreSQL in production environments allows you to assist with tuning, access control, and migrations effectively. You have a proactive approach to security and compliance, supporting frameworks like HIPAA and SOC 2.

You are eager to grow your skills in container orchestration, with a desire to work with Kubernetes or EKS as the company scales. Bonus points if you have exposure to Ansible or other configuration management tools, as well as experience with AI/ML infrastructure, such as GPU workloads and model deployment.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own and evolve the AWS infrastructure, utilizing services like ECS/Fargate, RDS/Postgres, S3, IAM, and VPC. You will maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, ensuring that deployments are efficient and reliable.

You will set up monitoring and observability solutions, including alerting, log aggregation, and performance dashboards using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry. Your focus on security will involve implementing secure-by-default practices and supporting the organization’s readiness for compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and HIPAA.

Automation will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you write Python and Bash scripts for backups, monitoring, and deployment hooks. You will also assist with database operations, particularly with PostgreSQL, tuning performance and managing access control and migrations.

As the company grows, you will lay the groundwork for container orchestration, preparing for a transition to EKS/Kubernetes when necessary. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and security of the infrastructure, allowing the team to focus on delivering high-quality products.
