Overview
GHJ is seeking a Business Litigation Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys in a busy law firm environment. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of business litigation experience and strong knowledge of court filing procedures.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced legal assistant with a minimum of five years of business litigation experience, thriving in a collaborative environment where you support multiple attorneys and teams. You possess a strong working knowledge of both federal and state court filing rules and procedures, including hands-on experience with e-filing. Your understanding of the full litigation life cycle allows you to contribute effectively to the team. You have excellent proofreading and writing skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage calendaring accurately and efficiently. You are comfortable multitasking and staying organized under pressure, ensuring that daily overflow work is handled smoothly. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with attorneys, staff, clients, vendors, and visitors.
Desirable
Exposure to transactional work is a plus, as it complements your litigation experience and enhances your versatility in the legal field.
What you'll do
In this role, you will join a respected San Diego-based law firm as a Business Litigation Legal Assistant, contributing to the litigation support team in a full-time, on-site capacity. You will assist attorneys with various tasks, including preparing legal documents, managing case files, and ensuring compliance with court deadlines. Your responsibilities will also include organizing and maintaining case files, conducting legal research, and preparing for trials and hearings. You will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between attorneys and clients, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the litigation process. Your ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently will be essential in this fast-paced, professional office environment.
