Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in a full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and maintenance. Your expertise spans backend development, particularly with Java or API development, and you have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. You are familiar with building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems, and you have experience applying machine learning concepts in real-world projects. You are also comfortable in a technical leadership role, having spent at least a year guiding teams or projects.

You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full stack, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can contribute to critical projects that align with Google's needs.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, as well as experience in networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing. You are eager to learn and adapt, ready to switch teams and projects as the business evolves.

What you'll do
