Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management. Your background includes significant experience in PCB category or commodity management, contract negotiation, and supplier development. You possess a Master's degree in a technical or business field, which enhances your ability to manage large-scale projects and negotiate complex contracts with global manufacturing partners.
You have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving consensus across complex work groups. Your ability to integrate disparate processes to create widely reusable components or services across the organization is complemented by your skill in influencing executive-level stakeholders at suppliers and internal engineering leadership. You are knowledgeable about PCB manufacturing processes, technologies, and global market dynamics, allowing you to plan, execute, and prioritize based on long-term objectives with limited oversight.
What you'll do
As a Commodity Manager, you will work closely with Engineering teams to ensure that Google has the supplies and equipment necessary for production. Your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships will be crucial in optimizing the total cost of ownership for Google's global infrastructure. You will propose and implement complex risk management strategies to ensure supply continuity and address potential market disruptions. Leading the management of the supply base for continuous performance improvement through the Supplier Business Review process and should-cost modeling will be key responsibilities in your role.
You will drive initiatives that influence design decisions for manufacturability and ensure the timely sourcing of PCBs for new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining products. Your role will require you to collaborate with various teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the procurement process. You will also be responsible for monitoring market trends and adjusting strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
