Data Center Facilities Technician • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field, along with at least 5 years of experience troubleshooting mechanical, cooling, and commercial HVAC systems. Your ability to perform material handling, work on platforms and ladders, and access tight spaces is essential for this role. You are flexible with your schedule, able to work non-standard hours, including rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays to support 24x7 operations.

You hold a current F-Gas Certification and possess a full driving license. Your experience includes planning and executing equipment installation, commissioning, and adhering to manufacturer protocols. You have a strong background in the operation and maintenance of mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, and power plants, and are familiar with electrical, mechanical, and control systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and monitoring systems.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Facilities Technician at Google, you will operate, monitor, and support the physical conditions of data center facilities. Your responsibilities will include managing the uptime and maintenance of HVAC systems, power supply, generators, and electrical distribution systems. You will regularly inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems, ensuring they are functioning optimally. You will also support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure, responding to any abnormal conditions that arise in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
