Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or commercial environment, with a strong background in electrical testing equipment and electrical distribution systems. You possess an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field. Your ability to handle material tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, is complemented by your knowledge of OSHA safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE). You are flexible and can work non-standard hours and varying shifts as required.

Your experience includes maintenance of electrical distribution systems, ideally within data centers, hospitals, or power plants. You have a solid understanding of electrical systems used in data centers, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, and PDU/PMM units. You are proficient in using meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques with standard hand tools and digital metering equipment.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Facilities Technician at Google, you will operate, monitor, and support the physical facilities conditions of the data center. Your responsibilities include managing the uptime and maintenance of UPS systems, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. You will respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Additionally, you will support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure, collaborating with contractors for maintenance and upgrades.
