Who you are
You have a strong background in assembling mechanical or electrical systems, along with experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems and computer hardware. Your hands-on experience includes performing component-level repairs on technical equipment, and you are comfortable lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50lbs. You are adaptable and can work non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts, as required by the role.
With at least 4 years of experience in maintaining and monitoring server systems, you have a solid understanding of data center operations. Your familiarity with Linux operating systems allows you to effectively manage server software and hardware. You also possess project management skills and have experience collaborating with teams to achieve common goals.
What you'll do
As a Data Center Technician III at Google, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and server software. You will work closely with the Hardware Operations team to ensure the physical infrastructure is running smoothly. Your role will involve disassembling equipment that has reached its end-of-life and performing preventative maintenance based on identified issues. You will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with Google security standards when handling sensitive data.
You will engage in hands-on troubleshooting of server hardware and software, addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be crucial as you navigate the challenges of maintaining a state-of-the-art data center environment. You will also have opportunities to contribute to process improvements and collaborate on projects that enhance operational efficiency.
