Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in microprocessor architecture, micro-architecture, performance, or advanced CPU design. Your expertise includes CPU architecture, performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization. You are proficient in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python, and you possess excellent communication skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

You may also hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, which enhances your qualifications for this role. Your experience includes leading CPU/ML micro-architecture exploration, performance model development, performance analysis, performance correlation, and workload characterization. You have a solid understanding of processor instruction set architecture, including ARM, RISC-V, and x86, as well as knowledge of system software components like Linux, drivers, and runtime.

What you'll do

As a Senior CPU Performance Architect at Google, you will be a key contributor to improving processor instruction set architecture and developing micro-architecture features. You will collaborate with Google's Android applications and AI teams to plan and conduct application and benchmark performance analysis and micro-architecture studies. Your responsibilities will include defining and writing CPU subsystem architecture specifications, leading collaboration with RTL, design verification, and physical design teams to develop CPU implementation. You will drive performance correlation between the performance model and RTL implementation, including micro-benchmark development and pre-silicon and post-silicon performance bug triage.
