Overview

Google is hiring an Incident Response Consultant to provide incident response and assessment services. You'll work with cybersecurity investigations and threat detection in Tokyo. This position requires 3+ years of experience in information security.

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, and you have at least 3 years of experience in information security domains. With 2 years of experience leading Incident Response investigations, you are well-versed in analysis and containment actions. You have a strong background in network or log forensic analysis, malware triage analysis, and disk or memory forensics. Your ability to communicate fluently in both Japanese and English allows you to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

You have experience in various cybersecurity areas, including network security, wireless security, web application assessments, social engineering, scripting, cloud security, and reverse engineering. Your familiarity with enterprise security architecture and security controls enhances your capability to navigate complex security challenges. You possess excellent time and project management skills, which are crucial for managing multiple investigations and client engagements.

What you'll do

As an Incident Response Consultant, you will provide comprehensive incident response services, including assessment, transformation, managed detection and response, and training. Your role will involve helping organizations detect and respond to threats, thereby reducing the overall impact of business risk before, during, and after an incident. You will be responsible for resolving security incidents through complete incident response processes, which include investigation, containment, remediation, and crisis management.

You will work on client-facing investigations, examining cloud, endpoint, and network-based sources of evidence. Your expertise will be critical in recognizing and codifying attacker Tools, Tactics, and Procedures (TTPs) and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) that can be applied to current and future investigations. Additionally, you will develop detailed reports and presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
