You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in technical design, software engineering, API design, and development. Your background includes expertise in software architecture and distributed systems, along with a strong foundation in data analytics. You have spent at least 2 years in a people management or team leadership role, guiding engineers to optimize their code and achieve project goals. You are adept at establishing strong relationships with client and partner teams, ensuring collaborative solutions for high-priority product needs.
You thrive in a technical leadership role, where you not only manage projects but also contribute to product strategy. Your experience with distributed systems or data infrastructure is a significant asset, enabling you to oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. You understand the importance of optimizing both your own code and that of your team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead the Geo team in building the most accurate and comprehensive maps for users. You will manage a diverse team of engineers, guiding them through technical challenges and ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.
