Google is hiring a Cloud Data Engineer to guide Public Sector customers in developing and deploying data and AI solutions. You'll work with technologies like PostgreSQL, GCP, and Python. This position requires 3 years of experience with relational databases and cloud technologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 3 years of experience working with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle. You have a proven track record of collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, providing technical leadership, and educating teams on Google Cloud Platform best practices. You are also able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is essential for this role.

Your experience includes working with database management tools for backups, recovery, snapshot management, sharding, partitioning, and database performance tuning. You are familiar with database administration techniques, including storage, clustering, availability, disaster recovery, security, logging, performance tuning, monitoring, and auditing. Additionally, you have developed, deployed, and managed machine learning models, and you are proficient in writing software in one or more languages, such as Java, Python, or Golang.

What you'll do

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will guide Public Sector customers in developing, configuring, and deploying their data and AI solutions. You will support customer implementations of Google Cloud products through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, capacity planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and monitoring. Your role will involve designing, building, and maintaining data warehouse and pipeline solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of the customers.

You will create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations, adapting your communication to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders. Regular travel (up to 30%) will be required for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities, allowing you to engage directly with clients and ensure successful project outcomes.
