Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using C++. Your background includes a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you are familiar with experimental design and performance tools. You may also hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, which is preferred. Your experience extends to developing accessible technologies and working with distributed computing, information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning.

You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full-stack. You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to projects that impact billions of users.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer III at Google, you will work on critical projects that drive the growth of Play and Google's overall business. You will own projects from initial idea to design, analysis, implementation, experimentation, and launch. Collaborating closely with Product Management, UX, Storefront, Platform, and Personalization teams, you will execute the product roadmap effectively. Your role will involve researching, developing, and implementing innovative AI and machine learning algorithms and models for Play Search, ensuring that our products handle information at massive scale.

You will identify frictions, issues, and opportunities within the product, turning learnings into actionable ideas and solutions. Your contributions will help shape the future of how users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. You will have opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow and evolve within our fast-paced business environment.
