Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 1 year of experience in analyzing cyber threats. Your background includes security analysis, intrusion detection, and log analysis, making you well-equipped to handle the challenges of this role. You possess excellent written communication skills, which are essential for collaborating with various teams and documenting your findings effectively.
With a strong foundation in SQL and malware detection, you are prepared to dive deep into security incidents and provide insights that help protect sensitive data. Your experience in security operations or assurance, ideally spanning 2 years, has given you a solid understanding of the security landscape and the importance of compliance with legal mandates and internal policies.
What you'll do
As a Security Analyst at Google, you will investigate aggregated signals and protect sensitive data by ensuring it is accessed appropriately. You will work closely with the Detection and Response teams, as well as the Threat Analysis Group (TAG), to determine the validity and severity of security issues. Your role will involve conducting security analysis, threat hunting, and malware analysis, which are critical for maintaining the integrity of Google's networks.
You will be responsible for analyzing, investigating, and responding to security alerts, as well as researching new hunt techniques to identify and discover security threats. Automating workflows and developing appropriate tooling to reduce toil will be part of your daily tasks. You will also ensure compliance with legal mandates and internal security and privacy policies, leading response efforts to low severity incidents.
