Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 10 years of experience managing teams in data centers or business-critical facilities. Your background includes 7 years in HVAC, electrical, controls, or mechanical systems, and you have a strong understanding of the operations and maintenance of these systems in a data center environment. You possess excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and develop your team members through coaching and mentoring.

Your experience managing large-scale, mission-critical facilities portfolios has equipped you with the ability to address traditional and emergent data center issues with critical thinking and innovation. You are flexible and ready to support operations, taking the lead in responding to critical events when necessary. You are committed to implementing and driving a safety culture at the site, leading by example and delivering results.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee the operations and maintenance of sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems within Google’s data centers. You will regularly help inspect, maintain, and repair various systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include managing teams performing installation and maintenance work, as well as developing and growing team members through effective coaching and training.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all facility operations align with Google's high standards. Your role will also involve demonstrating flexibility and critical thinking in addressing challenges, as well as leading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. You will be responsible for building a strong community within your team and fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
