Overview

Google is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer to work on semiconductor foundry technologies and advanced packaging development. You'll collaborate with architecture teams and external manufacturing partners to drive yield improvement and resolve manufacturing issues. This position requires 8+ years of experience in semiconductor technologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Microelectronics, or a related technical field, along with 8 years of experience in semiconductor foundry technologies and product engineering. Your expertise includes leading post-silicon yield improvement efforts, conducting root cause analysis, and debugging processes to enhance product yield. You are skilled in characterizing silicon interactions with package thermal and mechanical stress, ensuring that products meet high-performance standards.

With 15 years of experience in test engineering and advanced packaging development, you have a deep understanding of debugging IP integration issues, including HBM, SerDes, and PCIe. Your ability to drive technical feedback loops between foundry partners and internal teams is crucial for resolving manufacturing limiters and ensuring product success. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with architecture and design teams to incorporate manufacturing constraints into future product definitions.

What you'll do

As a Foundry, IP and Package Technologist at Google, you will be part of a team that pushes the boundaries of technology, developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences. Your role involves coordinating the technical stabilization and yield ramp of new products, collaborating with external manufacturing partners and packaging vendors.

You will lead efforts to triage silicon failures, distinguishing between design bugs, foundry process marginalities, and packaging interaction issues. This will support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure that next-generation chiplets are architected to be resilient to known process variances. Your contributions will directly impact the performance, efficiency, and integration of Google's hardware solutions.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in an environment that encourages creativity and supports your career aspirations, allowing you to make a significant impact on the future of technology.

Join us in shaping the future of hardware experiences and be part of a company that is committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in technology.
