Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 15 years of experience in network design and troubleshooting. Your background includes working with network equipment providers and managing teams for at least 10 years. You possess a deep understanding of defining, planning, and designing networks across multiple sites and products, particularly in Layer 1-3 technologies.
Your knowledge extends to Content Distribution Networks (CDN), Internet Protocol (IP) transit and peering, dark fiber, colocation, and optical transport. You are well-versed in cloud technologies and industry processes, which allows you to effectively communicate and present complex projects from business, product, and technical perspectives. Your excellent communication skills enable you to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
What you'll do
As a Senior Staff Network Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of Network Planners, Engineers, and Designers, driving the strategy and goals for network planning and design. You will ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring performance, coordinating maintenance, and addressing connectivity issues. Your role will involve establishing direction and strategy aligned with partners and stakeholders, while also fostering team empowerment and development through coaching and feedback.
You will be responsible for driving execution, mitigating risks, and developing contingencies to ensure the reliability of Google's complex network.
