Overview
Google is hiring a Senior Product Operations Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for hardware in data centers. You'll work with ODMs and component suppliers, utilizing your expertise in electrical engineering and supply chain management. This position requires 8+ years of experience in manufacturing and testing.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of work experience developing supply chains in manufacturing and testing. Your background includes extensive experience working with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), contract manufacturers, and component suppliers for hardware in data center networking topology. You possess a solid understanding of high-speed optical and copper network infrastructure design and testing methodologies, including Ethernet and serial bus interfaces.
Your qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field. You have experience setting up manufacturing assembly processes, driving product launches, and optimizing assembly processes within manufacturing operations. Your technical leadership skills are complemented by your project management experience and ability to communicate effectively with executives.
You have a deep understanding of CMOS devices, fabrication processes, ATE testing, DFT, quality, and reliability. Your experience includes bring-up and bench testing hardware in a lab environment, and you are proficient in Python and SQL scripting. You are eager to be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products.
What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design decisions, highlight manufacturing risks, and develop mitigation plans. You will work closely with quality and reliability engineers to establish NPI and production targets for yield and long-term reliability, ensuring that product performance meets requirements. Your leadership will guide the team towards resolving component and build quality excursions during NPI build phases, contributing to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide.
You will be responsible for driving product launches and assembly process optimization, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. You will lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
