Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and at least 1 year of experience in software design and architecture. Your expertise includes developing and deploying applications within Linux environments, and you have a strong background in low-level programming with C or C++. You are skilled in managing and maintaining production system infrastructure, and you have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, having spent 5 years honing these skills.
You may also hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Your experience includes working with Linux kernel, device drivers, and Android system programming. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, ready to contribute to Google's next-generation technologies that impact billions of users.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work on critical projects that are essential to Googleβs needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will develop and roll out features for billions of users, focusing on core system components such as Memory Management, Updates, and Storage. Collaboration is key, as you will support the Generic Kernel Image (GKI) for next-generation devices and contribute upstream to various open-source projects, including the Linux Kernel, AOSP, STG, and LLVM. Your contributions will help create and maintain a reliable, secure foundation for the Android software ecosystem, ensuring that Google's products can handle information at massive scale.
