Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products, along with 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. You are well-versed in distributed systems, storage systems, or databases, with a strong understanding of how to handle information at massive scale. You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design, and you are enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full-stack.
You possess leadership qualities and are eager to contribute to a team that values versatility and innovation. Your technical expertise allows you to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively. You are comfortable working on critical projects that align with Google’s evolving needs, and you thrive in an environment that encourages collaboration and the sharing of ideas.
Desirable
Experience with artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and security is a plus. Familiarity with UI design and mobile technologies will also be beneficial as you work on projects that require a comprehensive understanding of various tech stacks.
What you'll do
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions that improve data integrity across Google’s services. You will work closely with the Observability team to create tools and services that empower internal teams to monitor their readiness and enhance their data integrity posture. Your role will involve developing strategies for prevention, detection, mitigation, and notification to ensure safe and efficient data management.
You will contribute to a platform that unifies and integrates existing data integrity products, simplifying data management and incident response. Your work will directly impact Google’s reliability and velocity, making it essential for the company’s continued success.
