Overview
Google is hiring a Staff Software Developer for their Infrastructure team to work on the Conversational Agent Dialogflow Platform. You'll leverage your expertise in programming languages and large-scale infrastructure to drive technical direction and collaboration across teams. This position requires 8+ years of experience in software development.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in infrastructure software development programming languages. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, as well as building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. You possess 3 years of experience with software design and architecture, and you have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. In addition, you have experience in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction in complex, matrixed organizations.
Your technical skills include full stack development across back-end languages such as Java, Python, Go, and C++, as well as front-end technologies. You are familiar with AI technologies and platforms like GCP, and you have experience with tools such as Flume and Chemist. You thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at decoding complex customer needs to identify underlying technical challenges and long-term business opportunities.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the scoping, estimation, and risk assessment for multi-quarter initiatives, ensuring that dependencies are identified before they become blockers. You will drive cross-team collaboration to align stakeholders on technical solutions and ensure architectural consistency across the organization. Your responsibilities will include developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will work on projects that require handling information at massive scale, extending well beyond web search, and you will contribute to the design and implementation of large-scale systems that support Google's products.
