Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you have experience developing accessible technologies. Your educational background may include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields, which is preferred but not mandatory. You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full-stack, demonstrating leadership qualities in your work.

You thrive in environments where you can bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing. You are comfortable managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring that your contributions align with Google's needs and objectives.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer III at Google Cloud, you will work on specific projects that are critical to the company's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions that handle information at massive scale. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices are followed, including style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency.

You will contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. Additionally, you will triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Your work will directly influence how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another, making a significant impact on the technology landscape.
