Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. Your background includes building developer tools such as compilers, automated releases, and test automation frameworks. You are familiar with test automation development and have experience with Engineering Tools and Infrastructure. You possess a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you have experience in distributed systems, OS/kernel, and network system design.
You are a versatile engineer who brings fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You are enthusiastic about tackling new challenges and are eager to contribute to Google's mission of developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. You have a collaborative mindset and are ready to provide development best practice consultation for engineering teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work on critical projects that advance the Engineering productivity landscape within Google. You will identify development workflow inefficiencies and recommend best practices to enhance productivity. Your responsibilities will include driving the adoption of various homegrown tools and influencing minimal test coverage requirements across multiple partner teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering practices are efficient and effective, ultimately contributing to the success of YouTube Ads.
You will also have opportunities to switch teams and projects as Google's fast-paced business evolves, allowing you to grow and develop your skills in various technical domains.
