Your background includes 7 years of building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and you have a strong understanding of compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. With 5 years of experience in design and architecture, you are adept at testing and launching software products. You also bring 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and have spent 5 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction. Your experience in a complex, matrixed organization has equipped you to work on cross-functional or cross-business projects effectively.

You thrive in environments where you can influence and coach a distributed team of engineers, facilitating alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. You are versatile and ready to tackle projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. Your expertise spans various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions that handle information at massive scale. Your contributions will directly impact how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software products meet the high standards expected at Google. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers.
