Your background includes 5 years of experience with design and architecture, as well as testing and launching software products. You have spent at least 2 years in a people management or team leadership role, showcasing your ability to guide and mentor others. A Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred, along with 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. You have a proven track record in a technical leadership role, leading project teams and setting technical direction for complex projects. Your experience includes working in a matrixed organization, collaborating on cross-functional or cross-business projects.

You are proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript, which are essential for developing the next-generation technologies at Google. Your expertise extends to information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile technologies. You are versatile and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges, contributing your expertise to key product decisions that shape future devices.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work on critical projects that align with Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will design and develop systems for collecting and analyzing data from Pixel device sources, creating tools and reports that provide clarity and insight for launch and executive reviews. Your role will involve developing and maintaining data models, dashboards, and data warehouses that serve as the foundation of investigative capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems you build meet the high standards expected at Google, and you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of your projects.

You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment where innovation thrives. You will engage in code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the codebase remains robust and maintainable.
