Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 6 years of experience in hardware systems design, or 5 years with an advanced degree, you have a strong foundation in the field. You also bring 3 years of experience in technical leadership, showcasing your ability to guide teams effectively. Your expertise includes power circuit design and signal integrity, which are critical for the role.

You may hold a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and you have accumulated 10 years of experience with hardware design and bring-up. Your technical leadership or management experience spans at least 3 years, demonstrating your capability to lead complex projects. You are familiar with technologies such as PCIe, Double Data Rate (DDR), Ethernet, Universal Serial Bus (USB), and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), which are essential for the development of cutting-edge hardware solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences that deliver unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. Your responsibilities will include leading the debug and root cause analysis of deployed systems, as well as overseeing the bring-up, validation, New Product Introduction (NPI), deployment, and sustaining of hardware solutions. You will balance hardware performance priorities against power, cost, and cross-functional considerations, ensuring that all hardware product performance and regulatory specifications are met.
