Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your expertise includes 5 years of experience in machine learning design and infrastructure, particularly in areas such as speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, and model deployment. You have a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, and you've spent at least 3 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction.

Your experience with ML infrastructure encompasses model evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning. You are familiar with TPUs and GPU system design, and you have worked with machine learning compilers and runtimes. You thrive in structured organizations and enjoy collaborating on cross-functional projects.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field would be a plus. Experience with TensorFlow, JAX, and PyTorch is highly valued, as is familiarity with Google's custom workflows in areas like AdBrain, YouTube, and Search.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of solutions in specialized ML areas, optimizing ML infrastructure to enhance performance and efficiency. You will guide the development of model optimization and data processing strategies, ensuring that existing frameworks and runtimes are migrated onto the ML runtime with minimal disruption to users. Your work will directly impact how billions of users connect and interact with information.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers to develop next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale. Your responsibilities will include testing and launching software products, as well as mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation within the team. You will also be involved in setting technical direction and ensuring that projects align with organizational goals.
