Overview

Google is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex software programs and new product initiatives. You'll leverage your technical expertise to drive high-impact projects in AI infrastructure. This role requires 5+ years of experience in program management and software engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program management. Your background includes experience in software engineering, either as a developer or development manager, giving you a solid understanding of software development processes and tools. You are skilled in driving software quality and process transformation, and you possess excellent communication and presentation skills that allow you to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are top-notch, and you believe that a problem isnโ€™t truly solved until itโ€™s resolved for all stakeholders involved. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working closely with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules.

Desirable

Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) development and firmware is a plus, as is a proven ability to successfully drive and land software programs. You are comfortable explaining analyses and recommendations to executives while also discussing technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

What you'll do

In your role, you will be at the forefront of Googleโ€™s AI infrastructure, driving high-impact software programs and new product initiatives. You will provide critical Technical Program Management support for long-term roadmap development and resource allocation, balancing immediate project needs with future infrastructure goals. Your technical judgment will be essential in identifying systemic bottlenecks and driving initiatives that measurably improve software quality, developer velocity, and release predictability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across the company, ensuring that all reliability and performance milestones are met. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be key in managing project schedules and stakeholder expectations. You will also be responsible for applying your technical expertise to lead complex projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within scope.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that builds products that create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. You will have the chance to work on innovative projects that have a significant impact on the future of technology. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
