You have a strong background in mobile development, particularly with iOS applications, and are proficient in Swift and RxSwift. Your experience includes building, maintaining, and enhancing consumer-facing applications, ensuring they are high-quality, scalable, and maintainable. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features that improve user experience. You are also passionate about mentoring engineers, fostering their technical growth, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within your team.

You have a solid understanding of design patterns such as MVVM and modular architecture, and you are skilled in optimizing application performance while maintaining clean, structured code. Your technical decisions drive the adoption of new technologies and architectures, keeping the app modern and high-performing. You are excited about the opportunity to work on key projects that shape the future of Grindr’s app, including customer-centric algorithm improvements and app modernization initiatives.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a key part in building the next generation of the Grindr app. You will collaborate with a kind and capable team to solve challenging problems and work with the latest technologies. Your responsibilities will include driving technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and leading the adoption of new tools and methodologies. You will also be involved in optimizing application performance and ensuring that the codebase adheres to best practices in design patterns.

You will work on exciting projects like Hookups (Feed & Map) and contribute to algorithm improvements such as SuperBoost and Teleport. Your role will require you to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, fostering collaboration with your team. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of Grindr’s app by contributing to innovative solutions that enhance user experience and engagement.

What we offer

Grindr offers a competitive salary range for this position, with a base pay of $171,000—$201,000 in Chicago and $194,500—$229,000 in the Bay Area. In addition to salary, you will be eligible for equity, benefits, and a company bonus program.
