You are comfortable exploring, designing, and deploying AI solutions that deliver real value to users. Your experience includes working in agile teams where feedback is continuously integrated into the development process. You understand the importance of balancing cost, quality, and performance in your work, and you are committed to applying best practices in AI development, including DevOps and MLOps methodologies. You are proactive in diagnosing and mitigating system failures, ensuring the reliability of AI functionalities. You are also familiar with setting up metrics and evaluations to monitor the quality of AI systems, ensuring they meet operational and customer needs.

Desirable

Experience with state-of-the-art algorithms and methods in AI development is a plus. Familiarity with API-first design and test-driven development (TDD) will help you excel in this role. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to refine and improve products and features.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build Hootsuite's AI platform, which is utilized across multiple product features. You will implement core AI capabilities that enable new AI-powered features, focusing on areas such as natural language processing (NLP), retrieval, recommendation, and generation. Your responsibilities will include continuously improving these capabilities by leveraging the latest algorithms and methods. You will operate the AI platform to ensure it serves both operational and customer functionalities effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for diagnosing and mitigating any failures in the AI systems, ensuring they operate smoothly. You will set up the right metrics and bias evaluations to monitor the quality of the AI systems, applying AI development best practices throughout the process. You will also translate business and operational needs into technical requirements, ensuring that the AI solutions you develop align with Hootsuite's strategic goals.
