What you'll do

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II at Instacart, you will be part of the AI Special Projects team, focusing on reimagining the core consumer experience with AI. You will lead the development of generative recommendation systems that personalize shopping experiences for users, ensuring they receive tailored suggestions that meet their unique needs. Your role will involve designing and implementing machine learning algorithms that enhance marketing content and customer interactions.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to identify opportunities for AI integration across the company. Your responsibilities will include conducting experiments to validate model performance, iterating on designs based on feedback, and ensuring that the solutions you develop align with Instacart's mission of providing accessible grocery delivery.

In addition to technical development, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the AI team by sharing your knowledge and best practices. You will also stay updated on the latest advancements in machine learning and AI, applying new techniques and tools to improve existing systems and processes.
