Who you are

You have extensive programming experience and are familiar with modern development techniques — you've worked with various programming languages and understand how to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios. You have experience creating, deploying, and maintaining ML models and ML-enabled systems using modern frameworks — your background includes hands-on work with tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch. You understand the most common failure modes in machine learning systems and can troubleshoot effectively — your analytical skills help you identify issues before they impact performance. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, interacting with team members to apply data science and artificial intelligence to solve complex problems. You are familiar with modeling and statistics concepts, which allows you to contribute meaningfully to discussions about model performance and optimization.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus — you understand how to leverage cloud resources for scalable machine learning solutions. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes will help you in deploying and managing ML systems efficiently. Knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques is beneficial for working with large datasets and ensuring data quality.

What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Nubank, you will be responsible for connecting ML models and ML-enabled systems to the rest of our infrastructure — your work will ensure that these systems deliver value to our customers. You will help monitor and maintain models and ML systems, ensuring they perform well according to operational and business metrics. You will assist in deploying ML models in both batch and real-time scenarios, which may include building data pipelines, constructing features, and integrating models with other systems. You will also contribute to building and maintaining tooling and platforms that scale operations across multiple teams — your efforts will help streamline processes and improve efficiency. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and other engineers to understand how best to apply data science to Nubank's challenges, ensuring that your contributions align with the company's mission to empower people through financial services.
