Who you are
You have a strong background in machine learning and data science, with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in Python and familiarity with MLOps practices, allowing you to effectively manage the machine learning lifecycle from development to deployment. You possess excellent leadership skills, having successfully managed teams and fostered a culture of feedback and growth among your direct reports.
You understand the complexities of machine learning infrastructure and are passionate about democratizing AI within your organization. Your experience includes guiding engineers through performance reviews and career development, ensuring that your team is not only productive but also engaged and motivated. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
What you'll do
As the Machine Learning Engineer Manager for the AI Platform at Nubank, you will lead a dedicated squad of 11 engineers, ranging from interns to senior professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development and management of the infrastructure that supports the entire Data Science function at Nubank. You will work closely with a Staff ML Engineer to push the boundaries of the current stack and create innovative solutions that enhance the machine learning capabilities of the organization.
You will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and feedback within your team, conducting regular performance reviews, and guiding the professional development of your engineers. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that machine learning solutions are effectively integrated into Nubank's products and services.
In addition to people management, you will take ownership of the technical direction of the AI Platform, ensuring that the solutions developed are scalable, safe, and accurate. You will be instrumental in abstracting the complexities of the machine learning lifecycle, making it accessible to all Nubankers, not just data scientists. Your leadership will be key in driving the success of the AI initiatives at Nubank, contributing to the company's mission of redefining financial services in Latin America.
