Overview

JFrog is seeking a Mid-Level Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to enhance their DevOps processes. You'll work with Java, Groovy, and various cloud platforms to automate testing and improve build quality. This role requires experience in test automation and CI/CD integration.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in software testing and automation, with experience in writing test cases and automating tests for software releases. You are comfortable collaborating with globally distributed teams and have a knack for improving build and release processes. Your technical skills include proficiency in Java and Groovy, and you are familiar with frameworks such as JUnit and Testng. You understand the concepts and operations of cloud environments, specifically AWS, GCP, and Azure, which allows you to integrate automated QA processes effectively.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take on challenges that come with managing automated testing in CI/CD pipelines. Your experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes will be beneficial in this role. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of various testing methodologies, including integration tests, performance tests, and vulnerability scans.

Desirable

While not mandatory, experience with artifact management systems like Artifactory or Nexus would be a plus. You may also have familiarity with additional tools and frameworks that enhance the testing process, which can further contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work closely with the engineering team to identify and write comprehensive test cases for new features. Your primary responsibility will be to automate tests and ensure that builds are qualified for release. You will collaborate with release managers to integrate your automation efforts into the build, release, and distribution pipelines for JFrog's products. This involves not only writing and executing tests but also analyzing results and providing feedback to improve product quality.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the existing test automation framework, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the development team. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest testing tools and practices, allowing you to propose improvements that can streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

As part of a dynamic team, you will participate in regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for improving the overall quality of software releases. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise in test automation and best practices.
