Kong is hiring a Senior Golang Engineer to enhance their API development platform, Insomnia. You'll work with Go and various API protocols to build innovative solutions for developers. This role requires strong expertise in backend engineering.

Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly with Go, and a strong understanding of API protocols like REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and WebSocket. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working on complex systems that connect APIs and microservices.
Your expertise in building scalable and efficient backend services has equipped you with the skills to tackle challenges in API design and implementation. You are comfortable with debugging and optimizing performance to ensure seamless user experiences.
You are passionate about open-source technologies and have a track record of contributing to projects that enhance developer workflows. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly makes you a valuable team member.
Desirable
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies that can improve the API development lifecycle.
What you'll do
As a Senior Golang Engineer at Kong, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the Insomnia platform. You will design and implement features that facilitate collaborative API design, debugging, and testing. Your work will directly impact the experience of over 160,000 developers using Insomnia.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
