Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data science with experience in statistical analysis and experimentation — you've worked on projects that required a deep understanding of statistical methodologies and their application in product development. Your proficiency in SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, while your skills in Python or R enable you to implement complex data models and algorithms. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering and design, to ensure that data-driven insights are integrated into product features. You have a passion for advocating for technically-sophisticated personas and understand the importance of data-driven decision-making in product development.
Desirable
Experience with A/B testing frameworks and familiarity with data visualization tools would be a plus. You are also open to learning new techniques and methodologies that can enhance the value delivered to users. A background in software engineering or familiarity with production code is beneficial, as you may occasionally engage with implementation details alongside engineers.
What you'll do
As a member of the Core Data Science team, you will be responsible for ensuring the statistical validity of LaunchDarkly's products — your work will directly impact how users interact with features that rely on statistical characteristics. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to provide insights on feature design that meets statistical guarantees and performance expectations. Your role will involve conducting research to develop new techniques that enhance product value and advocating for data-driven methodologies in product discussions. You will also contribute to design discussions, providing a technical perspective that helps shape product decisions. Your contributions will be critical in raising the bar for data-driven decision-making within the organization.

You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team that values statistical rigor and innovation.
