You have extensive experience in backend engineering, ideally with a focus on location-based services or similar domains. Your background includes designing and implementing scalable backend systems that handle large volumes of data and user requests. You understand the importance of delivering fast and accurate location experiences, and you are passionate about using technology to enhance family safety and connectivity.

You are comfortable working in a remote-first environment and have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers. You possess strong problem-solving skills and are adept at debugging complex systems, ensuring reliability and performance in production environments.

What you'll do

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Life360, you will lead the development of the location platform that powers the company's core services. You will be responsible for architecting and optimizing backend systems to ensure they can scale effectively as the user base grows. Your role will involve collaborating with the Location Experiences team to define data collection strategies and enhance location intelligence capabilities.

You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and guiding them in best practices for backend development. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, helping families stay connected and safe through innovative location services. You will participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained across the team.
