Job Description
Who you are
You have a solid background in data engineering, with experience in building and maintaining data systems that are reliable and scalable. You understand the importance of data quality and have a knack for writing performant code that meets the needs of various stakeholders. You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects from design to deployment.
You are proficient in Python and SQL, and have experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow. You are familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS and understand how to leverage them for data storage and processing. You are detail-oriented and have a strong focus on testing and monitoring your code to ensure stability and performance.
What you'll do
As a Data Engineer at Lyft, you will independently own and deliver features and small projects that support the Corporate Data and Analytics team's goals. You will take responsibility for the development, operation, and maintenance of specific components within our data ecosystem, ensuring they are reliable and well-maintained. You will contribute to investments that improve code quality and reduce technical debt, while also modernizing our technology stack.
You will write reliable, performant, and scalable code, ensuring comprehensive testing for your features, including unit and end-to-end tests. Monitoring the stability of your deployed code will be a key responsibility, as you proactively identify and fix bugs. You will also contribute to the team's operational responsibilities, including on-call rotations and SEV handling, proposing improvements to processes as needed.
