Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building and scaling integrations for complex systems. You understand the importance of operational data flow in mission-critical environments and have a strong background in API design and implementation. Your expertise in Java allows you to develop robust solutions that meet the needs of first responders and public safety agencies. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment and can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

You possess a deep understanding of REST APIs and have experience in creating data pipelines that ensure seamless integration between various systems. Your technical ownership of projects means you are proactive in identifying challenges and implementing solutions that enhance system performance. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for troubleshooting issues that arise during the integration process.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with messaging layers that facilitate data communication between systems. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can improve your work and the overall efficiency of the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of integrations between Mark43’s core platform and third-party systems. You will take technical ownership of the integration process, ensuring that APIs are robust and capable of handling the demands of emergency dispatch systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of public safety operations, making a real difference in communities.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define integration requirements and ensure that solutions align with user needs. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members will be crucial in fostering collaboration and understanding across the organization.

You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of integrations and making necessary adjustments to optimize data flow. This includes troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing fixes in a timely manner. Your proactive approach will help maintain the reliability of the systems that first responders depend on.
