Ai Research Scientist

Who you are

You have a strong background in AI research, particularly in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Media Models (LMMs) — your expertise allows you to tackle complex challenges at scale, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI. You are experienced in data curation across various stages of model development, from pre-training to post-training, and you understand the intricacies of working with diverse data modalities including image, video, and media perception.

Your technical skills include proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and you are familiar with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch — you have a solid understanding of the principles of machine learning and data science, enabling you to contribute effectively to research projects. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside engineers and researchers to innovate and refine AI models.

What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to the development of Meta's frontier models, including Llama, by engaging in data curation and research activities — your work will involve organic data curation, synthetic data generation, and exploring new paradigms that redefine AI capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the data foundation supports the ambitious goals of Meta's AI initiatives.

You will be responsible for pushing beyond the data ceiling, tackling challenges at trillion-scale, and ensuring that the data used in model training is of the highest quality — your insights will help shape the direction of research and development efforts within the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior researchers and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
