Who you are
You have extensive experience in building engineering, particularly in data center operations, and possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical generation, distribution, and cooling technologies. Your background includes working with building control and fire protection systems, ensuring that all critical systems function optimally. You are an individual contributor who thrives in a collaborative environment, coordinating day-to-day operations across multiple buildings with significant critical capacity.
You are detail-oriented and capable of maintaining oversight of complex systems, ensuring that all operations align with safety and efficiency standards. Your experience spans diverse industries, allowing you to bring a wealth of knowledge to the role. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to enhance operational performance.
What you'll do
As a Lead Building Engineer at Meta, you will be responsible for the operational integrity of our data center facilities. You will coordinate and oversee the maintenance of critical systems, ensuring that all operations meet the demands of our customers. Your role will involve daily interactions with the Critical Operations Manager, where you will report on the state of the buildings and any operational challenges.
You will lead efforts to maintain and improve the efficiency of electrical systems, cooling technologies, and building controls. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the operational capacity of the facilities, which totals around 70+MW. You will also be involved in training and mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of excellence within the team.
