You are pursuing a PhD and have a strong research focus in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning. Your experience includes working on language modeling, data curation, and understanding the intricacies of pre-training and post-training phases of model development. You are familiar with low-resource NLP and have a keen interest in question answering and machine translation. You have a solid understanding of the challenges involved in organic data curation and synthetic data generation. Your academic background has equipped you with the skills to tackle complex problems in data handling and model training. Desirable

Experience with cross-lingual and cross-domain transfer learning is a plus, as is familiarity with dialogue systems. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a passion for advancing the field of AI through rigorous research and experimentation. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly will help you collaborate effectively with your team.

What you'll do

As a Research Scientist Intern at Meta, you will join the FAIR Text Data Research team, where you will contribute to building the data foundation for advanced Large Language Models. Your role will involve engaging in data curation across all stages of LLM development, from pre-training to post-training, ensuring that the models are trained on high-quality, diverse datasets. You will work on projects that involve organic data curation and synthetic data generation, addressing the challenges of working at trillion-scale.

You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to Meta’s frontier models, such as Llama, and collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in AI. Your work will include exploring innovative approaches to natural language understanding and generation, and you will be involved in developing methodologies for effective data handling and model training.
