Meta is hiring a Research Scientist Intern to work on photorealistic telepresence in virtual reality. You'll engage in projects involving neural rendering, generative AI models, and motion synthesis. This internship is ideal for candidates with expertise in AI, computer vision, or graphics.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a PhD student or recent graduate with a strong background in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, or Computer Graphics. Your academic and research experiences have equipped you with the skills to tackle complex problems in virtual reality and telepresence. You are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that can revolutionize how people connect in virtual environments.
You have a solid understanding of neural rendering techniques and are familiar with generative AI models for image and video synthesis. Your knowledge extends to motion and behavior synthesis for digital humans, and you are excited about the potential of VR/AR technologies to encode social signals. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work with a diverse team of researchers and engineers.
What you'll do
As a Research Scientist Intern at Meta, you will be involved in various projects aimed at achieving true photorealistic telepresence. You will work on neural rendering and relighting of digital humans, contributing to the development of realistic avatars that can interact seamlessly in virtual spaces. Your role will also include exploring generative AI models for image and video synthesis, enhancing the visual quality and realism of virtual interactions.
You will collaborate with team members on motion and behavior synthesis for digital humans, focusing on how avatars can express emotions and social cues effectively. Additionally, you will engage in research related to face, hand, body, hair, and cloth model reconstruction and tracking, ensuring that digital representations are as lifelike as possible.
Throughout your internship, you will have the opportunity to publish your findings at leading conferences and journals, contributing to the academic community while advancing Meta's mission of connecting people through innovative technology. You will be part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning, and you will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research that has the potential to shape the future of virtual reality.
What we offer
Meta provides a dynamic and inclusive work environment where you can grow your skills and make meaningful contributions. As an intern, you will have access to mentorship from experienced researchers and engineers, allowing you to enhance your technical abilities and gain insights into the industry. Our internships typically last between twelve to twenty-four weeks, with various start dates throughout the year, providing flexibility to accommodate your academic schedule.
You will also have the chance to participate in team-building activities and networking events, connecting with other interns and professionals across the company. At Meta, we believe in empowering our employees to innovate and create, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in our mission to build community and bring the world closer together through technology.
