Who you are

You are a PhD student or recent graduate with a strong background in Product or Mechanical Design, and Artificial Intelligence. You have a passion for integrating technology into design processes and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that enhance productivity and creativity in engineering. Your academic and project experiences have equipped you with the skills to tackle complex design challenges using AI.

You possess a solid understanding of design principles and methodologies, particularly in the context of Display & Optics. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively makes you a valuable asset in a research environment. You are excited about the potential of AI to transform product design and are motivated to explore new solutions that can drive innovation.

What you'll do

As a Research Scientist Intern at Meta, you will join the Metaverse Display & Optics Engineering team to develop a custom AI product design co-pilot tool. This tool will be specifically tailored for Display & Optics design in VR and Wearables products, aiming to significantly enhance productivity and accelerate innovation within the team. You will work closely with engineers to integrate common design rules, key parameters, materials databases, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines into a next-generation, AI-powered design platform.

Throughout your internship, you will engage in hands-on research and development, applying your knowledge of AI and design to real-world challenges. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of features that will streamline the engineering workflow and improve the overall design process. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the future of product design at Meta, and you will gain valuable experience in a cutting-edge technological environment.
