Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to develop software features for Microsoft Teams Rooms devices. You'll work with TypeScript, React, and REST APIs, and have the opportunity to impact enterprise customer experience. This position requires a strong technical background and problem-solving skills.

Who you are

You have a solid track record of problem-solving and shipping products/features — your experience developing with TypeScript, React, or any modern web stack has equipped you with the skills to create software that runs on devices or desktops. You possess a great sense of customer empathy, understanding the importance of user experience in software development. Your familiarity with C#, ASP.NET, and C++ is a plus, enhancing your ability to contribute to various projects. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges arise regularly, and you are eager to apply your expertise to make a significant impact on the Room experience in Teams.

You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, driving the identification of dependencies, and developing design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms. Your ability to create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code establishes and improves performance and maintainability, ensuring that the software you develop meets high standards of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop software features specifically for Microsoft Teams Rooms devices, directly impacting product engineering decisions based on user experience and data. You will be responsible for driving the identification of dependencies and creating design documents that guide the development process. Your work will involve optimizing existing code and implementing new features that enhance the overall performance of the Teams Rooms experience.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure that the software you develop aligns with user needs and business goals. Your contributions will help shape the future of Microsoft Teams, making it a more effective tool for enterprise customers.
